Kevin Vallier

My research pursues a political philosophy of reconciliation. I ask how free societies sustain cooperation across deep moral and religious disagreement. I pursue this question through empirical research on social trust, philosophical critique of anti-liberal ideologies, and constructive political theory. This work builds on the liberal tradition while employing a PPE methodology that integrates normative philosophy with empirical social science and historical analysis. My goal is to defend liberal democratic institutions by showing how they enable cooperation without requiring comprehensive moral agreement or resorting to mere modus vivendi.
